Aqua Dawn

60″ x 40″

Acrylic / mixed media on canvas

I wanted to truly capture what it is that I truly love about Vancouver in the fall season. How every tree
seems to melt and blend itself into its surroundings. Through the change of their colours, the trees become
one with both water and sky. Reuniting their bronzed leaves to the earth below. Reconnecting to the cycle of life.
The aged look and feel of the canvas represents this magical process. The colours pay homage to our deep ocean
greens and the gentle aqua hues only to be seen for a few moments when the sky is illuminated by the
cool glow only the Autumn sun can reflect at dawn.

Aqua Dawn 2 was painted specifically for the Crystal Ball charity auction. It was design so that if displayed
vertically it would reflect the grandeur of our forests and trees, or horizontally as shown here to suggest the
visual harmony of our water, trees and sky.
